OCI's disclosed circular-material lane is specific: recovered carbon black made from waste-plastic pyrolysis oil. The next decision is whether feedstock, certification and downstream grade requirements can stay aligned at commercial quality.
OCI's 2025 Integrated Report says recycled waste-vinyl oil from high-temperature pyrolysis is used in carbon-black manufacturing at its Gwangyang and Pohang plants, and reports 1,783 tons of recycled oil used in 2025. OCI says the carbon-black products maintain ISCC PLUS certification, and it identifies Saehan Recycle as the acquired source of pyrolysis oil from waste plastic film and packaging. Public sources do not disclose grade allocation, customer approval or a new offtake.

OCI has a real circular-material narrative only to the extent that waste-plastic pyrolysis oil, certification and recovered-carbon-black quality remain connected. Break that chain and the story becomes a claim. Keep it intact.
