Panasonic has identified the real problem in circular resin work: a recycled polymer is not commercially useful until supply, part properties, factory processing and recycling technology all line up. The company reached 45,000 tonnes of cumulative recycled-resin use from FY2023 through FY2025, but missed its target because those four constraints did not clear at the same pace.

Panasonic reports a 99.2% factory-waste recycling rate in FY2025 and 15 circular-economy businesses. Its FY2026 resources disclosure reports 17,100 tonnes of recycled resin used and makes the constraints explicit: virgin-resin pricing, stable supply, application-specific characteristics, factory adaptability and recycling technology. Public sources still do not identify a buyer-approved grade, part, qualification dataset or repeatable feedstock contract.
